Halloween/Samhain Full Hunter's Blue Moon
Halloween 2020 (needless to say) is going to be one for the books – whether or not your plans have been tricked or treated this year. This Halloween we can look forward to our second Full Moon of the month lighting up the spooky night sky, the Full Halloween Hunter’s Blue Moon.
During Halloween, otherwise known as Samhain, we welcome in the harvest and usher in the dark half of the year. It is believed that the barriers between the physical world and the spirit world break down during Samhain, allowing more interaction between humans and the Otherworld.
The veil between worlds is at its thinnest and you may be feeling some tension in your crown and rook chakra’s assigned to the sign Taurus. Begin by visualizing your chakras awakening one by one. This Blue Moon is providing us with a turning point, an opportunity to reconnect with ancestors, find your power, and harness your magic.
Although your favorite childhood movies may have you thinking otherwise, a full moon on Halloween is a rare occurrence, it only happens once in a blue moon—every 18 to 19 years, to be exact. This rare occurrence is always exciting, and to top it off this year our Halloween Full Moon also happens to quite literally be a blue moon making it even more rare.
For starters, you may be wondering what exactly is a “Blue Moon” and while the name itself might make you think you’re going to see a blue colored moon in the sky, a blue moon is actually more about when it occurs than its actual appearance. The average lunar cycle is 29 days, because most months are longer than 29 days there is a chance that two full moons could happen in the same calendar month. When this happens, we call it a blue moon.
Chaos Is Coming
Full moons tend to bring chaos, and this one’s no exception. Thanks to Mercury in Retrograde, scheduling mishaps and miscommunications will be at an all-time high, and the intensity of the moon is likely to heighten these sensations — so keep that in mind as you make Halloween plans.

Stay Focused
This full moon takes place in Taurus, so it's an ideal time to focus on material matters, romance, and values. Dealing with love or money issues? Prepare for new information to come to light under this lunation that can help you find closure or reach a turning point.
Embrace Change
During this lunation, the moon will align with Uranus, the planet of sudden change — and this can bring about unpredictable changes of heart and out-of-the-blue realizations, so don't get too attached to your comfort zone.
Open Your Heart
With the moon in Taurus, we'll be feeling extra sensual and open to pleasure — so listen to your body and do what feels good. With unpredictable planet Uranus joining forces with the moon, it's possible we'll develop sudden feelings or meet someone unexpectedly.
Release Heavy Energy
With two full moons, Mercury retrograde, and lots of planetary drama, October's been exhausting. Under this Halloween lunation, make a list of anything holding you back from feeling valued, and commit to letting these things go as the full moon begins to wane.
Re-Affirm Yourself:
I am Powerful. I am Magic.
Go With The Flow
The Halloween blue full moon will wrap things up with a grounded but excitement-filled twist of lunar fate. If we keep our minds and hearts open to new possibilities, we can make the most of this lunation and have some full moon Halloween fun.
There’s no better way to celebrate October and all its spooky, ghoulishly good fun than by kicking off and ending the month with a full moon. Where the first of the month we’re granted the harvest moon, the name given to the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox on September 22 and on the 31st of October we’ll see the first Halloween blue moon since 2001. You won’t want to miss it – after all, the next time we can expect to see a full moon on Halloween is in 2039!
It’s time to take the plunge – finally and completely release, face your shadows, and embrace your power. Got any Halloween plans this wild and crazy year? I’d love to hear about them – tag me in your Halloween posts on Instagram @nourishednatasha and don’t forget to Follow, Like + Subscribe!
